For Nominating Committee

Please describe your ideas for succession planning for future Zonta leaders and how you will identify, engage and recruit candidates.

Succession planning is critical to organization. The situation gets more critical for Zonta due to our loss of members worldwide and reduction in donations. While D17 apparently has membership growth and leads all districts in donations, we are unsure of this momentum. Signs already show loss of long serving, aging members in clubs with long history and more difficult to raise donors’ support. We have to identify more creative, more resourceful and innovative Zontians for district and area roles. Zontians should not just be committed to serve but be empowered and embrace change to make this important turn.

If elected, I shall engage and build communications with different levels of leaders, presenting the directions and stimulate active referral of potential candidates with exceptional qualities and competences along the new path. Getting third party view to ensure the best candidates are referred and validated through due diligence processes. I believe in fairness and this validation ensures candidates at all levels qualified should have equal chances.

Getting a candidate willing to serve is difficult, but does not mean we should compromise quality leadership management. This is my commitment to District 17 if I am elected to this role.
