Achievements as a Zontian
As Charter President, I have steered the Zonta Club of Makati Legaspi towards the ZI goals of service and advocacy to empower women and girls through education, health, security and financial competence. From 15 charter members, the club has expanded its roster of members to 30 and has fulfilled its duties in getting 100% ZFW member donation for the past biennium. As a representative of ZFW, I partnered with Insular Health Care where fees are directed to ZFW. Currently as VAD, I was responsible in thefundraising collection for A5 projects.

As an EXCO leader, I am responsible for the asset and liability management of the bank with capital efficiency oversight. I ensure that the strategy is aligned with international business direction which gives optimal efficiency and maximum shareholder value.

My leadership stints in various international banks have exposed me to the gold standard of effective governance and ethical standards including the ability to share clear messages and make complex ideas easy to understand for stakeholders’ buy-in.
My reputation and integrity in the industry and other associations have helped inspire and Influence friends to join Zonta. The achievements of the Club demonstrates the cooperation and commitment of each member as the goals of the club are focused.

I have been an advocate of women empowerment as reflected in various designations in my professional life including my Zonta journey. Membership is critical to success and with my network, I have been successful in the recruitment process. Hopefully this can be replicated in the coming years with quality members who share the same advocacy. As part of the Women in Leadership stream of the bank, I am a mentor to junior staff across the international network to support their aspirations and resolve challenges in their professional journey.
What are your goals for advancing the objects of Zonta International in District 17 and concrete programs to accomplish?
Projects on membership growth and retention can be initiated to accelerate the implementation of ZI goals particularly in the field of financial resource. Campaigns to beef up the coffers of the Foundation will be continued and enhanced for sustainability. The use of digital platforms will be utilized to create awareness on the various issues afflicting women and girls particularly the youth sector. Partnerships with like-minded organizations can better assist in broadening the reach of Zonta particularly in developing the youth as future leaders. Activities to nurture nature will be encouraged so future generations can thrive in a green healthy environment.
What special competencies and attributes do you possess which qualify you to serve in the position you are nominated for?
I have been working with international institutions in leadership roles operating in an environment with good governance and high ethical standards. I always act with integrity to maintain my reputation and would always approach complex situations with critical thinking and transparency. I am methodical in my approach to business decisions, calculating in making risk decisions within the risk tolerance framework. Budgets, plans and optimal resource allocation and efficiency has been part of my ecosystem for the past 40 years.
