Achievements as a Zontian

Last 2018, Bangsamoro Women Recovery from War Initiatives proposal won Zonta International Centennial Anniversary Award winning $5,000 and helping 30 entrepreneurial women who were displaced by Marawi war; 120 children; 200 more women benefiting through training and mobilization.

Networking with like-minded organizations like International Justice Mission paved the way for various projects, including corporate sponsorship for Global Resolve Against Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (November 18-20, 2020) This online global conference helped equip stakeholders to respond to OSEC in a more determined way.

2020 to present with fellow Zontians we did sessions on Recognizing Fears and Anxiety. We helped around 150 people suffering from depression and anxiety from loss of a loved one, triggered trauma events and delayed grief.

I conduct needs assessment as requested by organizations and suggest possible interventions or supporting structures that will enable them to attract, motivate, maintain people who create wonderful products and/or services. For teams, I design structured learning experiences that facilitate valuable realization and motivates them to thrive in their work.

Contribution of business/professional experience to the effective performance of positions:

My Human resources and development work sharpened me in the use of results chain for problem analysis, IEC and advocacy to promote clear messages, monitoring and evaluation to fine tune solutions and change management to embark on transitions that will support champions and sustain new effective ways in responding to child marriages, VAWC, OSEC, climate change and illiteracy. My ability to discover and support strengths in my team will hopefully encourage presidents to find their purpose in Zonta, hope that a better world for women and girls is possible and experience success in the area of helping and repairing communities.

What are your goals for advancing the objects of Zonta International in District 17 and concrete programs to accomplish?

  • Support clubs for strategic and programmatic action plans
  • Assist clubs to engage and sustain interest of new members through fostering sisterhood and genuine care for the member clubs
  • Create a Gender sensitive and responsive culture amongst members and our sphere of influence
  • Promote area-wide resource mapping and mobilizations
  • Strengthen monitoring and evaluation of programs for more targeted response to child marriages, VAWC, OSEC, Climate Change and illiteracy
