Responsibilities of position :

As Executive/Presiding Judge, I provide leadership in court; supervise judges and personnel within my jurisdiction; balance court workload; maintain equitable distribution of cases; recommend and implement policies concerning court operations; resolve problems in court administration; improve judiciary services; adjudicate and interpret the law and perform administrative work.

Contribution of business/professional experience to the effective performance of positions:

As a lawyer, professor and judge, I have a grasp of the basic laws involving women and girls. I have vast experience in advocacy programs on gender-based issues particularly on women empowerment and eradication of gender-based violence as I often get invited to speak and lecture on these topics. I have established a network of women professionals whom I can tap to create Zonta clubs in other provinces and to increase membership in existing clubs in Area 4.

  • Professor of the College of Law of the University of Cagayan Valley for the past 13 years teaching Legal Ethics and civil law subjects.

What special competencies and attributes do you possess which qualify you to serve in the position you are nominated for?

To mentor the three baby clubs in Area 4; to assist older clubs SOM new clubs and/or increase their membership; replicate meaningful programs and projects of my club like addressing climate change, reducing cases of teenage pregnancy and domestic violence, and trafficking of women and children; increase awareness on women’s health (ie. early detection of breast cancer and cervical cancer); skills trainings and employment opportunities for women; encourage clubs to strengthen linkages with local government units and government agencies.
